UK Energy Storage (UKEn) is an energy developer aiming to deliver nationally significant long duration energy storage projects, in the form of hydrogen-ready storage, in Dorset and Yorkshire. Our two planned UK salt cavern storage sites are amongst the largest of their kind, bringing key strategic benefits to UK plc by doubling existing onshore UK underground storage capacity, providing up to 10% of NESO predicted hydrogen storage needs in 2050, supporting the decarbonisation of the UK’s highest CO2-emitting region, the East Coast Cluster, delivering the only planned national scale hydrogen storage solution in southern England - critical to supporting clean power grid infrastructure.
